YOUNG was approached by a fairly large group from Africa to help create a new hotel brand in Nairobi, Kenya. The property is located in an existing building, comprising of mixed development with local retail at the lower level, and commercial office spaces on the next few floors. All higher floors of this building were smartly converted to Hotel rooms, offering economical stay in the heart of the city.
A visit to the location and surroundings reflected the Kenyan culture. A blooming Orchid, which is the adopted national flower of Kenya, was interestingly merged into the Kenyan flag, and a distinguished ensemble that exuded warmth and hospitality was created. The flower represented progression and beauty. A brown and beige palette was used to compliment the logo as a whole and lend a quality of grandeur in simplicity.
The new look helped the brand attain higher occupancy, and along with lending a premium aura to the property, all collaterals put together enabled higher visibility for the brand. Even the digital platforms started yielding higher returns, and the conversion rate improved drastically.
